Astoria Column and Columbia Mouth

Here we are at and over look next to the jetty at the mouth of the Columbia (a ways up from the shipwreck).
The kids are doing well so far after spending almost a week around each other 24/7.
But they are becoming a little more disobedient.
An ocean shot to commemorate Tekara's first time being at the ocean.
Gage is still a little trooper through this whole week!
Next we went to the Astoria Column.  This is a picture I took a few years ago.  I wish it were this sunny this last time we went!  The column is really tall, you can see Nick sitting at the bottom.  There's 164 steps to the top and it's a spiral staircase so you get pretty dizzy going up and down.  Also it's a little nerve-wracking when you have to pass people going the opposite direction!  It's the highest point in Astoria so you can see all around!
We all made it to the top, except Carisa and we didn't bring Gage up either so she was watching him.  We also bought little wooden planes for $1 that you can throw off the top.  Nick and Tim got two each so they could again, be boys :)  Corbin threw his and we watch it go up and away...we never saw it land or go down!
Here's one of the rivers that meets the Columbia just before it empties into the ocean.
This bridge is 4 miles long and connects to Washington.  It's really fun when you're traveling from the Oregon to WA because that little slope you go down makes it feel like you're on a roller-coaster!
My favorite picture of that day!
